Cultural Modra

The artistic works, either literary, visual arts or music were produce and remain coming into the light in the small cold wine-cellars or in the shadows of the woods above the vineyards. Many well-known Slovak’s performers - literates, artists, musicians for example J.Smrek, V.Šikula, I.Bizmayer, M.Polonský, Ľ.Rapoš, I.Zeljenka found their inspiration in Modra.

There are always many varieties of cultural events in Modra, which can be visited. The tradition of small international music festival of classic music called “Music to Modra” was founded recently and takes place in June. The regular exhibitions and concerts are being hold in the Art Hall EUNIKA (the former German Lutheran church), in the Museum of Ľudovít Štúr, in the private Gallery Merum and in the House of Culture of Ľudovít Štúr.
